Support Strategy Through Networks and Follow-Ups

  • Restoring Citizens (RC) uses a peer support network, connecting participants with role models who have successfully adjusted post-incarceration.

  • Staff conducts regular follow-ups at 30, 60, and 90 days, as well as at six months and 12 months.

  • Participants are encouraged to engage in community activities such as service organizations, churches, projects, and support groups.

Post-Release Resources

Case Management and Service Expansion

  • Case management is a critical component of the program.

  • Plans are underway to expand case management services by securing interns from RC’s higher education partners, including SDSU, UCSD, and USD.

Reentry Program

  • RC operates a reentry program with transitional housing, in place since 2018.
